The MXR EVH Modern High Gain Pedal brings the unmistakable intensity of Eddie Van Halen’s modern high-gain sound to your pedalboard, developed in direct collaboration with Eddie in 2015. Built for players who want aggressive saturation without sacrificing definition, it delivers a fierce, cutting voice that stays articulate even when the gain is pushed hard. Heavy riffs hit with authority, palm-muted passages stay tight, and lead lines open up with the sustain and harmonic richness needed to rise above a dense mix. It’s a powerful way to give your amp a more commanding, high-gain character without losing the details that make your playing your own.

With dedicated Output and Gain controls, the MXR EVH Modern High Gain Pedal makes it easy to balance sheer saturation against clarity and punch. Separate Bass, Mid, and Treble knobs give you the flexibility to carve out everything from thick, grinding rhythm tones to sharp, aggressive leads, while the Boost switch adds another layer of gain when a solo needs to push forward. A selectable 55Hz/80Hz low-frequency switch lets you choose between a fuller bottom end and a tighter, punchier response, helping the pedal adapt to different guitars, amplifiers, and playing styles.

At higher gain settings, the built-in Noise Gate control helps keep unwanted hiss and noise under control, preserving the precision of fast runs, stops, and tightly executed riffs. The result is a high-gain tool that combines brute force with the control to make that force musical, whether you’re chasing crushing rhythm sounds or soaring lead tones. From its aggressive attack to its focused, mix-ready response, the MXR EVH Modern High Gain Pedal is built for players who want their distortion to hit hard and remain unmistakably clear.
