Developed for Sabaton guitarist Chris Rorland, the SL7 takes Jackson's long-running Soloist platform and adapts it for the extended range, precision, and aggressive response demanded by contemporary heavy music. Its Satin Black finish, white binding, black hardware, and stripped-down ebony fingerboard give it a focused stage presence, while the 26.5" scale provides the additional tension and definition that help the seventh string remain controlled under heavy picking.

The Soloist has been closely associated with high-performance guitar playing since Jackson established the design in the 1980s, and the SL7 continues that philosophy with neck-through-body construction rather than treating its seventh string as an afterthought. A three-piece maple neck runs through the nyatoh body and is reinforced with graphite support rods, creating a rigid foundation for the extended scale. The 12"-16" compound-radius ebony fingerboard becomes progressively flatter toward the upper register, combining comfortable rhythm playing with room for fast runs, wide bends, and technical lead work across 24 jumbo frets. Luminlay side dots provide an additional practical advantage on dark stages, while the recessed Floyd Rose 1000 Series seven-string tremolo offers the expressive range of a double-locking system while maintaining the tuning stability required for aggressive performance.

A pair of active EMG humbuckers gives the SL7 the focused, high-output voice expected from a guitar built around modern metal. The EMG 85-7H in the neck delivers a full, powerful sound for fluid leads and heavier clean passages, while the 81-7H bridge emphasizes tight attack and definition for palm-muted riffs, fast alternate picking, and saturated rhythm tones. A single Volume control and three-position toggle keep the signal path and stage operation deliberately straightforward, making this a guitar designed to move quickly between sounds rather than bury the player in switching options.
