Every player eventually reaches a point where standard tuning no longer feels like the end of the road. Available now at Haggerty's Music, the Gibson Victory Baritone was created for musicians who want to push beyond traditional electric guitar territory into deeper, heavier sonic landscapes without sacrificing the feel and familiarity of a Gibson. Building on the overwhelmingly successful return of the Victory lineup, this modern interpretation expands the platform with an extended 28-inch scale, delivering the thunderous low-end response today's players demand while honoring the bold spirit of Gibson's original 1980s cult classic.
The solid mahogany Victory body has been refined with updated contours that provide exceptional balance and playing comfort, while the glued-in mahogany neck features a familiar Rounded profile that feels immediately comfortable despite its extended scale length. A bound ebony fingerboard with a compound 10"-16" radius and 24 medium jumbo frets allows for effortless rhythm work, articulate lead playing, and confident string bends across the neck. Finished in an eye-catching Graphite Metallic gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, the streamlined body omits a pickguard entirely, creating a clean, modern aesthetic that perfectly complements its aggressive personality.
Powering the Victory Baritone is a pair of newly developed Gibson Elev8 humbuckers featuring Alnico 8 magnets for outstanding clarity, punch, and dynamic response across the instrument's extended range. Push-pull master volume and tone controls unlock coil splitting along with inner and outer coil selection, dramatically expanding the tonal palette from powerful humbucking growl to crisp single-coil textures.
Tuned B-to-B, this instrument is perfectly suited for modern rock, metal, progressive music, cinematic textures, and creative alternate tunings. Complete with a Gibson hardshell case, the Victory Baritone offers uncompromising craftsmanship, remarkable versatility, and an inspiring new voice for adventurous players.
