The Epiphone Explorer 80s EMG brings the attitude of one of rock’s most unmistakable shapes into a modern, hard-hitting instrument built for players who want presence before they even plug in. Inspired by the iconic 1984 Explorer, the mahogany body delivers the kind of naturally full, resonant character that pairs perfectly with the active EMG 60 and EMG 81 pickups. The result is a powerful voice with thick lows, aggressive mids, sharp definition, and the sustain to let everything from classic hard rock to heavier modern styles come through with authority.

The Epiphone Explorer 80s EMG keeps the playing experience fast and straightforward, with a mahogany neck shaped to a comfortable 60s SlimTaper profile and topped with a rosewood fingerboard. Twenty-two medium jumbo frets and simple pearloid dot inlays keep the feel familiar, while the Graph Tech nut, mini die-cast tuners, and LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and Stop Bar keep the guitar feeling solid when you start pushing it. There’s no pickguard to interrupt the Explorer 80s EMG’s angular lines, giving the guitar an especially clean, stripped-down look that fits its muscular sound.
