Constructed around Deering's renowned three-ply violin-grade maple rim and equipped with the patented Goodtime Special steel tone ring, the Blackgrass Special delivers greater volume, richer sustain, and enhanced clarity than the standard Goodtime models. The rock maple neck features a comfortable slender "D" profile, a Midnight Maple fingerboard adorned with elegant Artisan-style pearloid inlays, and a satin black finish that perfectly complements the matte black hardware and black high-crown head. Factory-installed fifth-string railroad spikes at the 7th, 9th, and 10th frets make key changes quick and effortless, allowing players to move seamlessly from G into A, B, and C for bluegrass jams, gospel, folk, and traditional performances.
