If you're sick and tired of budget steel strings that sound like a screeching cat, feel like barbed wire, or drop out of tune the second the weather shifts, it’s time to upgrade! The D'Addario J613 3/4M Prelude Bass Single A String is the undisputed, #1 educator-recommended pick for a reason—it delivers incredible bow response, warm resonance, and bulletproof durability without tearing a hole in your wallet!
Whether you are bowing classical concertos in the pit, slapping bluegrass rhythm, or walking jazz basslines, this stainless steel-wound A string brings out the absolute best in your 3/4 scale upright bass.
Why D'Addario Prelude Strings Rule the Stage:
- Surprisingly Warm Tone: Built over an advanced stranded steel core, yet engineered to deliver a lush, warm acoustic voice that completely eliminates harsh, metallic edginess.
- 100% Weatherproof Performance: Extreme humidity or sudden temperature swings? Zero problem! These strings boast unreal resistance to climate changes so you stay locked in tune wherever you play.
- Optimal Bow & Finger Response: Balanced medium tension facilitates smooth bow tracking and a silky, comfortable feel under your fingers for effortless pizzicato and arco technique.
- Genre-Bending Versatility: Perfectly voiced to crush it across classical, bluegrass, jazz, rockabilly, and rock genres alike.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you set up every guitar before it ships?
Yes. Every guitar that leaves our store has been professionally inspected, set up, and signed off by the technician who worked on it. You will find a signed checklist inside the box when your order arrives.
How accurate are your condition descriptions?
We treat condition grading as a contractual promise, not an approximation. When we list something as excellent, that reflects a specific, consistent standard we apply across every instrument. We encourage you to call us before purchasing if you want a detailed in-hand description of any specific guitar.
Can I call and speak to someone about a guitar before I buy?
Yes, and we encourage it. Our team are working musicians, not order-takers. Call us at 605-348-6737 and ask about any instrument in our inventory. We will physically pull it off the wall and describe it to you in detail.
What is your return policy?
We offer a 14-day return policy if you change your mind and the item is returned undamaged. You are responsible for return shipping costs.
